The Island Crafters Guild was formed in February 1990. It is a non-profit, non-partisan, and non-secretarial organization. In May 1990, the guild received it’s Corporate Charter.
The purpose of the guild is to foster the art of handicrafts; to encourage a high standard of design and technique in all of it’s various forms and to stimulate an interest in these goals within the community.
The guild has an annual fall craft show which is participated in by guild members as well as other local crafters.
Membership is open to any person, upon payment of annual dues, who has a serious interest in the art of handicrafts. All arts and crafts are required to be of top quality and of handmade origin by the artist or crafts person.
The guild meetings are held on the third Monday of the month at 7:00 pm at Ryan’s Steakhouse on Highway 61. We come at 6:00 pm to eat before the meeting and to have time to socialize. |
